Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana is fully funded scheme by government of india. Gram Sadak scheme to provides all weather road connectivity in rural areas of the country. The programme scheme connecting all villages with populartion minimum of 500 persons and above in the plain areas and 250 in hill states. Provided road assistance which are connecting to Highways. Govt.of India is endeavoring to set high and uniform technical and management standards and facilitating policy development and planning at State level in order to ensure sustainable management of the rural roads network.

This scheme is under the jurisdiction of Rural Development Ministry, it is fully funded by the Central Government. During the month of November 2015, after the recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission, it was announced to the sub-groups of Chief Ministers for the development of centrally sponsored schemes that the project would be run between the Central Government (60%) and the States (40%). The purpose of this scheme is to connect every village by road.
as per reports 300 million people in the country lacked access to all-weather roads and a large part of the existing 2.7 million km of the rural road network were in poor condition. The programme also has an Upgradation component in order to ensure full farm to market connectivity.
Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana
Funding pattern : In ratio of 60:40 between Centre and State for all States except for 8 North Eastern and 3 Himalayan States (Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashmir) for which it is 90:10. More than 6 Lakh Kms of Roads have been constructed across rural India. A total of 1,53,491 rural road works have been completed under the PMGSY Scheme connecting 97.27% of the eligible and feasible habitations and adding up a road length of 6,07,900 Kms across the country.
PMGSY will be allowed to improve the existing roads (according to fixed norms) in those districts where all the habitations with the specified population have been provided with perennial road connectivity. However, it should be noted that corrections are not the focal point of the program and in this situation it can’t be more than 20% of the state allocation of states, where there are still habitations not connected with roads. Priority should be given to change general and all roads into perennial roads in the core network in the reform work.
Develop the online management and monitoring system or OMMS GIS system to set goals and monitor the progress. OMMS also has different modules to track the expenses incurred on each road. Based on the data recorded by the state and district officials, the OMMS prepares detailed reports which are viewable in the section of the citizens (omms.nic.in).
Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in Hindi
प्रधानमंत्री ग्राम सड़क योजना (पीएमजीएसवाई) 25 दिसंबर 2000 को शुरू की गयी एक केंद्र सरकार की योजना हैं। ये योजना ग्रामीण विकास मंत्रालय के अधिकार के अधीन है यह केंद्र सरकार द्वारा पूरी तरह से वित्त पोषित है। नवंबर 2015 के दौरान, 14 वें वित्त आयोग की सिफारिशों के बाद, केंद्रीय प्रायोजित योजनाओं के विकास के लिए मुख्यमंत्रियों के उप-समूह को यह घोषणा की गई कि परियोजना को केंद्र सरकार (60%) और राज्यों (40%) के मध्य चलाई जाएगी। इस योजना का उद्देश्य हर गांव को सड़क मार्ग से जोड़ना हैं। इस योजना के तहत 2014 से 2014 तक, पीएमजीएसवाई के तहत सड़क निर्माण की औसत गति 98.5 किलोमीटर प्रति दिन थी। 2019 तक केंद्र सरकार और राज्य सरकार का लक्ष्य हैं की इनको हर गांव तक जोड़ दिया जाएँ।
The PMGSY will permit the upgradation of the existing roads in those districts where all the eligible habitations of the designated population size have been provided all-weather road connectivity. The roads laid under PMGSY need to be maintained for 5 (five) years by the same contractor and the five-year maintenance contract should be entered along with construction contract.

A separate maintenance component will be provided in the DPR. The funds will be provided by the State Government and placed at the disposal of SRRDA and kept under separate Maintenance Fund Account. The PMGSY and the Bank’s involvement under this additional financing, will emphasize on managing the rural road network through green and climate-resilient construction using green, low-carbon designs and new technologies – far beyond merely funding civil works.
So far it has invested over $1.8 billion in loans and credits mostly in the economically weaker and hill states across North India – Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh.
