Ujjawala Yojana Scheme benefit range, main Objective of the scheme, Under the Prime Minister Ujjwala scheme, poor women will get free LPG gas connections. This scheme started by the Central Government will give the poor women the freedom to get the clay stove soon, to encourage the use of LPG instead of fossil fuels used for cooking in rural areas. One of the main objectives of the scheme is to promote women’s empowerment and protect their health. Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan package had announced the free delivery of LPG cylinders. Under this initiative, free LPG refills were to be provided for three months to the Ujjwala beneficiaries. Ujjawala Scheme aims to provide 5 million LPG connections in the name of women in BPL (below poverty line) families free of charge in India.
Under the scheme, the government has set a target to distribute 5 million LPG connections to BPL families across the country. In the first phase, 709 districts have benefitted from these women. The scheme was launched to provide LPG connections to families below the poverty line. Providing LPG connections to families below the poverty line will ensure universal coverage of cooking gas in the country. The scheme can be a tool for women empowerment in that LPG connections and clean cooking fuel can reduce cooking time and effort, and in most of India, cooking is a responsibility shouldered solely by women.

LPG Gas Connection Subsidy:
Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana scheme, the government of India provides a subsidy of Rs 1,600 to state-owned fuel retailers for every free LPG gas connection that they give to poor households. This subsidy is intended to cover the security fee for the cylinder and the fitting charges. LPG coverage presently extends to close to 90 percent of the population and the expansion will help take the coverage to all households

Required Documents to Apply for Online Registration:
To get a connection under the scheme, the candidate must eligible for the below conditions. check out PM Ujjawala Yojana Eligibility conditions. The eligible beneficiaries (women from BPL households) have to provide the following documents.
- Proof of residential address
- Unique Aadhaar number
- Details of a bank account.
- Permanent Resident Certificate
After receiving the application, the distributor verifies the application and a new connection is allotted. Applicant age must be above 18years. The report finds that of the 3.78 crore total connections issued under the scheme, 1.6 crores (42%) were issued only based on the Aadhaar number of the beneficiary. Applicants should have a savings bank account in any nationalized bank across the country. The applicant’s house should not already have an LPG connection in the name of anyone. these are basic eligibility criteria for this scheme.

How to apply for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Application Form
To apply online, registration process mentioned here Eligible female candidates of BPL families can fill the Ujjwala scheme KYC application form (in prescribed format) and apply offline for this scheme at the nearest gas connection centers. For this, the candidates must fill the 2-page application form and attach the required documents along with the form online. for eligible candidates, the government will provide two types of cylinders, of which 14.2 KG and one KG Need to mention your requirement from these two.
